01 · What we’re about

Connecting the right people
to the right waves.

/ limited

Waves are limited

There are only so many waves at a peak. One surfer’s wave is a wave another surfer didn’t get. So we’ll never chase the kind of growth that just crams more bodies into the same water.

/ respect

Learn it

It’s not about how hard you charge. It’s whether you give way, learn the lineup, and look after the next person out. Everyone starts somewhere. Here, showing up right earns your place.

/ easy

Less screen, more surf

No endless feed, no notifications nagging you, no fake urgency. Check what’s on, then go paddle out.

02 · What you get

No one should have to
paddle out alone.

Some sessions you want the water to yourself. Some sessions you don’t. SaltRiders is where you find your people, your lessons, and your gear: one place for everything a surfer needs, first-timer or lifer.

The Lineup

Find your crew

See who’s paddling out near you, request a spot, and never be the only new face in the water. Find sessions by your skill level, vibe, and region. A single tap to say “I’m in.”

Lessons

Learn from people who look out for you

Book verified coaches and surf schools that teach etiquette and ocean safety, not just pop-ups, so you paddle out confident and clued-in, not anxious. Honest, all-in pricing, plainly cancellable. No surprises.

Marketplace

Get geared up, safely

Buy, sell, trade or rent boards and wetsuits with payment held until you’ve checked the gear in person. Everything stays on-platform, so the usual resale scams have nowhere to hide.

/01Easy bookingThe simple, all-in-one-price booking you’d expect, minus the fake “only 2 left!” countdowns. The only limit here is real: how many people a session can hold.No fake urgency
/02The mapFind verified crews, coaches, and surf schools near you, but pinned to a region, never an exact break. No GPS drops, no crowd heat maps.Region, not spot
/03Session kudosGive a mate props with one tap and keep your own log, but there’s no leaderboard. We celebrate showing up and looking after people, not who caught the most.No scoreboards
/04Trusted crewsEvery crew is private and gated. You approve who joins, and blocked people can never see or enter. The lineup you build stays yours. You hold the gate
03 · Cultural protection

We protect the waves, not expose them.

Broadcasting a break gets it blown up. So we don’t. The map takes you to the region crews are active in. The exact spot is earned, not posted.

No GPS pins. Discovery resolves to a region, never an individual break.

No public heat maps. The solitude is the point. We never visualize crowds.

Spot knowledge is gifted. The exact meetup point is revealed only after a host approves you.

Local veto. If a community asks us to remove their spot, it’s gone. No questions.

04 · Safety is the foundation

Safe by default, for everyone.

Respect in the water protects every surfer. One-tap blocking, two-tap reporting, women-only sessions, a code of conduct everyone signs: these are built into how SaltRiders works from the start, and they can’t be switched off.

Good surf culture looks after everyone in the lineup, the veterans and the nervous first-timers alike.
Enforced

Women-only means women-only

If a session is women-only, everyone else simply can’t see it, join it, or message it. It’s not a setting we trust people to respect. The app makes sure of it.

Instant

Block someone in one tap

Block a person and they vanish completely. They can never see your profile, your posts, or your sessions, and they’ll never show up for you again.

≤ 2 taps

Report in two taps, seen by real people

Harassment, hazards, snaking, scams, spot-burning: two taps sends it to a real person, not a bot. Anything urgent gets looked at within hours.

Me-session
or we-session.

Your session, your call. Paddle out solo, join a crew, or book a lesson when you’re ready. The water’s always on your terms.

05 · What we won’t do

Our four nevers.

Four things that would make us bigger and make surfing worse. We will never build them, no matter what.

NeverA leaderboard for waves caught.Wave-counting rewards snaking and aggression, the exact behavior that gets people hurt.
NeverA live “who’s surfing where” map.Nobody wants their dawnie broadcast. It turns the app into a spot-burning machine.
NeverA safety gate we’d lower just to grow. We’d rather help you start at the right level than wave you into water you’re not ready for.
NeverAn algorithmic feed, ads, or sold data. The three ways every community app slowly turns on its own users.
